General opinons of capital credit
cards:
In the years I spent at Uni I got
myself in serious debt, and had many CCJ's and
many visits from bailiffs etc. So my credit just
didn't exist, even the high street banks wouldn't
give me a current account, but capital one classic
accepted me and even though there rates are on
the high side they where very handy in repairing
my credit, after only 7 months I was being offered
credit cards from most other companies and was
accepted by the ones that I decided to change
to, this card is great for rebuilding your credit
status. I only use mine now in emergencies, this
card has helped me so much the high rate pays
for the amount of help it's given me.
---------
Good Points
My first credit card was a capital one classic.
They gave me the chance when many others would
not.
Bad Points
Higher interest rate but a good first card.
General Comments
The Capital One Classic Credit Card card was a
great way to build up credit. It had a higher
interest rate but also had a grace period. Capital
one was great the entire time I had this card
and I eventually moved up to a platinum card.
-------------------------
Good Points
Gave me the chance when no one else would.
Bad Points
Awful customer service; deceptive charges.
General Comments
Customer service is awful - 90% of reps don't
seem to speak clear English; I got charged a $25
over my limit fee due to being $.02 over my limit,
which was caused by the interest being added on
to my balance which would have been offset had
they taken off the charge that I was disputing
when they were supposed to. I contacted them and
went up the chain of command, threatening to close
the account because of this $25 charge, and they
all waved goodbye - absolute horrible experience
- wouldn't recommend unless it's your last resort.
